The Lancome Genifique Eye Cream I’m about to review today is Lancome’s new and advanced formula of their iconic Genifique range of youth activating and light-infusing eye cream.

Lancome Advanced Genifique Eye Cream & Serum Review

The Lancome Advanced Genifique Eye Cream I’ve had been on for the past 3 weeks was used with their Light-Pearl serum together; the latter bought much to the persuasion of the Lancome girl. It helped that this duo was sold at a good price together (S$190/ set vs S$110 & S$120 respectively). The reason why I was sold the serum (known as the Lancome Advanced Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye & Lash Concentrate) is because I was told it will help to depuff my eye bags. The eye cream apparently targets at under eye dark circles and wrinkles.

The Lancome Advanced Genifique Yeux eye cream contains a unique patented complex of pre and probiotic fractions which promises to visibly strengthen the skin around our eye contours. This concentrated formula also aims to smoothen fine lines and boost radiance under and around the eyes with their light-infusing technology.

Above is a chronology of what the Lancome Advanced Genifique Yeux eye cream and their Light-Pearl Youth Activating Eye & Lash Concentrate serum did to my under eye areas over a period of two weeks. Clearly, using the products after one week seemed to have yield better results than after two weeks. By the end of week 1 (middle photos), fine lines were significantly reduced and even as I crinkled up in the bottom photos (so you can see the effect on the creases better), the under eye wrinkles were visibly ironed out as skin plumped up. You could also see how much of my eye puffiness has improved. However the result by the end of week 2 showed a little deterioration of the performances; with some slight puffiness coming back and so consequently, some fine lines re-appearing too. But even though the capabilities plateau from that point, my under eye dark circles turn out lighter, and my puffy eye bags as well as under eye wrinkles become better in general. The result is still the same as in the right photos at present.

Texture & Scent

The eye cream feels heavy and gooey when you first apply, however it gets absorbed quickly despite its thick texture. After application, the skin under the eyes feel silky, leaving not much tackiness to it. The cream smells fresh as forest when you inhale it close enough. Otherwise it is hardly noticeable.

Lancome Advanced Genifique Yeux Light Pearl Eye & Lash Concentrate

Let’s talk a little about the Lancome Advanced Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye & Lash Concentrate which is best used before the Lancome Advanced Genifique Yeux eye cream. This is an anti-wrinkle, eye bag de-puffer, eye lash enhancer serum rolled in one. It comes with this flexible massage applicator that mimics a micro finger I feel, that introduces a cooling effect as it goes around the eye socket which makes it super comforting. It didn’t get rid of my eyebags as much as I’d like it to, but the serum does remove some fine lines because it does firm up the skin under my eyes. I’m not particularly concerned about my eye lashes but I do for my eyebrows. I took to applying some of this eye serum onto my brow hairs and boy, did it work! I wouldn’t say I have thinning eyebrows but it makes the brow hair shafts thicker, as well as filling one tiny existing bald spot that I always used to have. What a bonus!

Best Eye Cream by Lancome for wrinkles without worsening milia seeds

I’ve religiously used both the Lancome Advanced Genifique Yeux eye cream and serum concentrate twice a day – once in the morning and another time before bed. I’d have to admit that initially I was more hardworking in using them with my jade heart gua sha tool in scraping the eye cream into the skin for penetration after the serum got absorbed, so I cannot be sure if the lymphatic drainage massage could’ve helped in achieving the initial better results. Nonetheless, this duo managed to achieve a few things for me, even though it performed best during the first week – brightens my dark circles, makes my eye bags a little less puffy and does best in the anti-creasing department at the end of the day.

Normally when eye creams are this dense and concentrated, the milia seeds under my eyes get worse with using them. But not with this Lancome advanced Genifique eye cream, my milia seeds remain unchanged – they didn’t get better, but neither did they get worse, which is a big deal for me.
