Roses De Chloe Perfume For Valentines Day!

Nothing quite comes close to the rose when you paraphrase love in tangible form. And nothing quite speaks the language of the heart the way the scent of a rose takes your breath away. Bring the Roses De Chloe Perfume with you this Valentine’s Day because it is, on-the-nose, romance in the air. Or so it seems.

But whether it is sweet enough for your schnoz, here’s us to smell and tell.

The Chloe Rose Perfume Review

The Chloe Rose perfume or rather, the Roses De Chloe, is pretty much the rose edition of the original signature Chloe Perfume, Chloe Eau de Parfum. This romantic version of the Chloe fragrance is launched in 2008 and it couldn’t be easier for the floral-loving feminists to lay hands on this one following its preceding cult sister.

Packaging

The Chloe Roses de Chloe eau de toilette spray is no different from the original Chloe EDP spray bottle in terms of the ribbed glass bottle design, except that it comes with a rose pink and white box, a raspberry rose bow and a pinkier potion color (as opposed to the beige box with black letterings,  peach-colored bow and amber-colored liquid of the original one). Look at the color differences through sunlight.

The Chloe Fragrance Rose Edition, Really?

Take your first whiff at the counter and you will identify with bergamot instantly, sweet and tangy. Take a look at the notes and it says:

Top notes: Bergamot, Fresh Cut Roses

Heart notes: Damascena Rose essence, Magnolia Accord

Base notes: White Musk, Amber

Verdict:

What we have in common here with the original Chloe perfume are the Magnolia and Rose middle notes and the Amber base note. But what we don’t quite know is the type of rose they use before in the original version versus the Damask Rose (Bulgarian Rose) here. Plus we know how fresh cut roses smell like – like when you huddle a bouquet of roses;they smell dewy, not exactly the richest of scents. Damask rose however is known for its rich, velvety sweetness, but we don’t find it here. It’s like the essence of love just skips through the heart and goes direct to the base (we’re talking about white musk here – what are you thinking). Yes, even amber is missing in this rubric.

In barely an hour of wearing it, white musk emerges as the lingering scent. Hate to say this, but even the usually sexy white musk hits the skids, it smells sharp and powdery and turns out kinda old-womanly.

It is nothing like the original Chloe’s signature scent that we fell in love with. So long, valentine. We say, stick to your first loves, they are more memorable.
