The Chanel Le Blanc serum has been one I can count on when my skin turns dull. My skin has suffered from dehydration and sensitivity from the past two months of exposure to frigid weather. As a result, the skin texture has roughened, and has thickened with a noticeable buildup of dead skin cells. This is the second bottle of Chanel Le Blanc Serum Healthy Light Creator I’ve been on, I’m not sure why I didn’t share my review of it sooner.
If there is any Chanel skincare collection that can deliver translucence and radiance, it is their Le Blanc series. I’m not only talking about their skincare, even their makeup collection is consistent with bringing luminosity to the skin. Some of you may have already seen how the Chanel Le Blanc Brightening Compact Foundation and Stick Correcting Concealer performed in my past post. Here’s a demo video review of them for those who haven’t.
Chanel Le Blanc Serum Healthy Light Creator vs Intensive Multi-Spot Treatment
So I’ve had some experiences with a few other Chanel Le Blanc products. The Chanel Le Blanc Intensive Multi-Spot Treatment was one of those I have to mention here. Simply because, they are relatively similar in their intended roles and benefits, yet complementary to each other. I feel that this Chanel Le Blanc Serum Healthy Light Creator review will not be complete without drawing reference from this particular sister product.
The spot treatment has a thicker consistency than the serum, so do allow 10 minutes for the skin to absorb the spot treatment before applying subsequent product. After all, it is a spot treatment designed to target specific areas, i.e. dark spots. It takes time to penetrate the skin to reach the affected areas. By comparison, the serum is not necessarily runny, but has a smooth, gliding application. As such, the serum gets drawn into the skin more readily.
Chanel Le Blanc Serum with TXC Technology
TXC is a patented, active ingredient developed by Chanel for its Le Blanc line. It was created to regulate and inhibit hyperpigmentation at a cellular level. The TXC is part of the 3QD Complex which comprises three ingredients: TXC, vitamin E, and allantoin. The Le Blanc Intensive Spot Treatment also contains TXC, albeit likely a higher concentration of it.

Active Ingredients in Chanel Le Blanc Serum
The role of Vitamin E is to smoothen skin texture by protecting and hydrating the skin barrier. Vitamin E is also a common key ingredient between the Chanel Le Blanc Serum and the Multi-Spot Treatment. Allantoin calms irritation and helps wounds to heal faster. It also helps to shed dead skin cells to keep skin smooth. The serum also contains Gardenia fruit extract, which brightens and improves skin tone.
Radiance/ Brightening/ Diminishes dullness
The Chanel Le Blanc serum hits the mark for this one. Just so you know, the Multi-spot treatment is formulated for use on the T-zone, outer eye and neck areas as well. Chanel has also stated that it is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It helps to refine skin texture and increase skin luminosity, much like what the serum is supposed to do. So if I have to break it down, the Chanel Le Blanc Serum Healthy Light Creator seems more effective at enhancing overall skin radiance.
The above photos at the beginning are shots taken during the day with natural sunlight (left), and night under ambient lighting (light). My skin is far from clear or refined, but a good amount of radiance is seen in both photos from the amount of light my skin reflects. Although some redness on the face persists, the overall skin tone has become healthier.
Prevents & Reduces Dark Spots
You’ve seen how far the multi-spot treatment has helped to fade my age spots and darker pigmentation. Unfortunately, the Chanel Le Blanc serum doesn’t do much to lighten those discoloured spots and areas of my skin. Chanel’s clinical test results showed a decrease in the sharpness of pigmented spot contours for a notable percentage of subjects. What I think this means is, a group of individuals have found the serum to have helped blur or fade their dark spots, making them appear less defined or obvious. However, I do not experience the same advantages; my dark spots remain unchanged.
Prevents & Reduces Roughness
As outlined on the brand’s website, the ingredient responsible for preventing and reducing roughness is Vitamin E. While Vitamin E does not directly exfoliate the skin, it does catalyses skin cell turnover by supporting cell growth. It achieves this through boosting the skin’s blood circulation, delivering essential nutrients and oxygen to the skin cells. Additionally, Vitamin E plumps up the skin, making fine lines and wrinkles less noticeable. Though I wouldn’t go as far as to say the serum smoothed out the bumps of my skin, it does soften my dehydrated skin, fostering a suppler and firmer complexion.
