Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile & Lotion De Rose Review

I’ve used the Dior Prestige La Micro-Lotion de Rose for about a month, and the La Micro-Huile De Rose Advanced Serum for about 2 weeks now, and this is my review of them.

The Dior Prestige La Micro-Lotion de Rose is a balancing and refining micro-nutritive lotion as a first step in providing hydration and comfort to prepare the skin for the La Micro-Huile De Rose advanced serum. These two products when working together, aim to purify, balance and clarify the overall skin tone and improve skin texture. I bought this rather quickly without reading through the ingredients list, so when I realise how much dimethicone this lotion has (contains both dimethicone and dimethicone vinyl dimethicone crosspolymers), I instantly regretted getting it because I know how dimethicones used to break me out and make my skin really oily. For the first 2 weeks, it almost did nothing to my skin except causing a layer of sebum to be floating on top of it by the end of the day. But that was during which I used it without the La Micro-Huile De Rose advanced serum.

The Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile De Rose advanced serum changes the game for me. My beauty advisor had kindly given me this travel-sized face repair serum from the same Dior Prestige La-Micro nutrient series 2 weeks later when I collected my member’s gift. Amazingly, when I use this serum with the La Micro-Lotion de Rose, my skin becomes refreshed and hydrated, and not oily. On days I’ve tried using the serum on its own, my skin wasn’t as hydrated even though it still delivered radiance and glow.

The products do not lighten age spots but some pores are filled

The Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile De Rose is an anti-aging face serum that contains double the concentration of Rose de Granville, a rose born from science and innovation created by Dior specifically for skincare purposes. It has rose micro-nutrients that can revitalise and repair our skin made possible by its rich rose oils and 10,000 micro-pearls complementing its absorption.

During my trial with both products, I feel that the La Micro-Lotion de rose helped the La Micro-Huile serum with its deeper penetration into my skin. The difference also lies in the hydration level. When used with the lotion, the skin becomes more plumped. Now this is the part where I think the dimethicones of the lotion become beneficial. Dimethicones apparently help to seal in moisture because of its water resistant properties. It is this same “trapping” quality that often breaks my skin out because of the way chemicals clog pores of the bacteria and sebum within. However if dimethicones are used with potent ingredients of high quality nutrients, the repairing works clarifies the skin faster than dimethicones can clog; which leaves dimethicones doing the good thing instead – the locking in of the nutrients by forming a barrier for water loss and optimal nourishment. In my month-long experience with both the Dior Prestige La Micro-Lotion de Rose and the La Micro-Huile de Rose, I have never once had any adverse allergy or my skin breaking out. Safe to say, Dior knows their stuff when it comes to formulations and the synergism of ingredients – both natural and synthetics.

Scent & Texture

The Dior Prestige line has always pride itself with the Rose de Granville as the heart of their feature. Both the lotion and face serum offer a very soothing, true-to-life rose scent which puts you in a restful mood during application. The La Micro-Lotion de Rose feels kinda thick on its own but when you use it with a cotton pad, it gets taken in fast by the skin. The La Micro-Huile de Rose is viscous in texture but gets absorbed very quickly, especially when used after the La Micro-Lotion.
