Red Yeast Rice for Skin Redness on Face & Around the Nose
It is ironic that it turns out skin redness loves red yeast rice! Do not let the red pigment of red rice fool you. Red rice, in this case is in fact, red yeast rice, from which natural skin-benefiting compounds are produced during the fermentation process. And that, you’ll read more about from my experience with a red rice skincare product below.
Skin redness can occur for many reasons. for example, I do not have skin conditions like rosacea or eczema on the face, but I do have redness-prone skin due to it being slightly intolerant of and other factors. For instance, unhealthy lifestyle can cause inflammation which leads to increased blood flow beneath the skin. Moreover, aging and hormonal changes can cause our skin to be more prone to sun damages and broken capillaries.
Hanyul Red Rice Moisture Firming Cream
The Hanyul Red Rice Moisture Firming Cream is a vegan ceramide face moisturising firming cream for all skin types. It targets at skin firming, deep hydration and skin balance. This anti-aging, anti-wrinkle face moisturiser features the red yeast rice ingredient – the mother of skin elasticity, stimulation, and restoration.
Rice Vegan Ceramide
HANYUL’s Rice Vegan Ceramide (trademarked) is born out of a dual fermentation method, a 360-hour process in extracting only the purest and ceramide-rich component. Ceramides are a type of lipid (fat) vital in supporting the skin’s elasticity and plumpness. Ceramides are essentially building blocks that form a protective barrier on the skin’s surface. This barrier helps to retain moisture and prevents dry skin.
Red Rice Ferment
The Red Rice Ferment is another key ingredient of this skin firming cream. During fermentation, the red yeast rice produces bioactive compounds such as amino acids and antioxidants. These compounds have strong anti oxidative effects on skin growth and repair functions. Red Rice Ferment also boosts the blood circulatory system. Consequently, it delivers vital oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to the cells, and maintains a balanced complexion.
Lactobacillus Ferment
This face moisturiser also contains lactobacillus ferment, which is derived from a probiotic known as the lactobacillus bacteria. This fermented product comes with beneficial microorganisms that restore and balance the skin’s microbiome. And for this reason, it helps to reduce redness, irritation, and inflammation of the skin.
The acne and eye bags aside. Never mind the pale skin from poor blood flow. I have redness on the cheeks, red spots on the face, and broken capillaries around the nose. Therefore, these red patches on the skin contribute to my uneven skin tone for the longest time, as seen on the left photo above.
You see, I was unable to reverse the redness on my cheeks and around the nose completely (broken capillaries, duh), but the Hanyul Red Rice Moisture firming cream was able to make my skin less blotchy. The red patches and spots on the face appear less visible, hence my skin tone looks more even.
I guess Hanyul Red Rice Moisture Firming Cream doesn’t only revitalise and unify my skin tone, it also lives up to what it claims about the skin firming part. The skin around my neck seems to have smoothen (I apply it on the neck as well). The neck wrinkles aren’t looking as deep as before. Or am I trippin’?
