Hi there, this Nudestix Nudies All Over Face Color Matte makeup review may come to you as neck and neck with the Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick review I’d done just a while ago, so you can more or less compare these two multi-makeup-sticks in terms of their product size, packaging, portability, wearability, etc. Of course you can’t compare a matte to a shimmer, but because I’m not going to get two matte sticks or two shimmer sticks just yet, and both brands DO in fact carry both the matte and shimmery range, the ideas behind both brands in creating such all-in-one eye, cheek and lips stains are enough to make me analogize one to the other.
Nudestix Review: Matte Lipstick, Eye & Cheek All Over Face Color Review in ‘Bare Back’
Packaging
The Nudestix Nudies Matte lipstick, eye and cheek All Over Face Color stick comes in their signature black tin box, except that this one is a little chubbier compared to the more slender sized ones from their pencils. I like that the tin cover is lined with a mirror, so in this wider tin box situation the corresponding size of the mirror makes more sense since you’ll need to see your almost entire face rather than just the lips.
The top and bottom caps can be easily popped off (it is a double ended product), you can expect to twist out 7 grams of product in one tube.
Unlike the Fenty Beauty Match Stix Skinstick, this one comes with a brush applicator on the other end of the product. The brushes for the matte shades are flat-top buffing blending brushes while for their Nudies All Over Face Color Bronze + Glow sticks (for brightening, bronzing & highlighting), they come with angled brushes, possibly for some mild contouring.
How To Use Nudestix Nudies All Over Face Color Matte
As the name of the product suggests, it is to be used on all over your face, i.e. as a cream eyeshadow, blush as well as lipstick. There is nothing new about this concept of multi-tasking makeup sticks, really. However, I feel the strong urge to talk about how useful this particular concept is especially for this shade in Bare Back, because it could totally give me the ‘no makeup’ makeup look in five minutes. If you are a late-riser or a slow ready-getter, you. will. need. this. Because this one product could transform you from a pale, bare faced individual to a ‘I woke up like this’ look in no time. I’ve done a short demo of what I mean in this video if you’re interested:
Texture/ Shades
The Nudestix Nudies All Over Face Color Matte comes in 5 shades: Bare Back, Bondi Bae, Naughty N’ Spice, In The Nude, and Deep Maple Eh. The shade I’m reviewing now, Bare Back, is of the lightest tone and most natural-looking. Yes, even more natural than the shade ‘In The Nude’ because the latter has more of an apricot/ peachy tone; great to bring out some sunkissed radiance but not subtle enough like “Bare Back” which is more of a healthy flush from beneath the skin kind of look.
The formula may be thick but it is definitely creamy enough for it to glide smoothly on the cheeks and eyes. Just one or two swipes and you get a ton of pigment on your skin. But because it comes in quite a big tube of product, it is difficult to apply it directly on the lips. The easier way would be picking up the product with your finger before application. Expect your lips to be quite matte from this one and may end up emphasizing on the fine lines and folds on them. Because of this, I tend to only limit it on my cheeks and eyes only.
